On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the launch of the revised Pattern Book. 

We draw your attention to page 7 - Led Patterns - Scoring System.

The Board has developed the sliding scale scoring system to assist in your allocation of points to the Led pattern and trust you will find this useful.

Events Convenor Tricia Thomas says:

"The amount of work and revision that goes into creating new patterns is extensive. I personally would like to thank the previous Events Convenor, Director Judi Powell, for heading up the team that has created the end product. A particular thanks to Director Barry Moore who meticulously checked and double-checked that the patterns were correct and workable.

"The newest item is the addition of the Led Scoring System to accompany the Led patterns. This has been developed and revised to ensure that we keep our Judges accountable and to give constructive feedback to our competitors. The addition of the scale and preamble on the Led Scoring System is designed to guide Judges and assist them to develop a thorough understanding of the Standards of Excellence.

"This Scoring System has had many iterations and will most likely receive many more. I spent time at our National Show in May 2025 talking to the Judges and competitors to further enhance the Scoring System. I would like to personally thank Iain Hyde, Julie Peadon and Sue Lind for their valuable feedback. This Scoring System will become part of a suite of products that we will use at our Judges Clinics to support and guide our new Judges.

"Our mantra is that all documents developed by the Society to assist with our Events, are fluid. Meaning, they can always be improved or modified to meet the needs of our Members. We welcome your feedback."
